“I would definitely recommend working at WEG in any function. There are always opportunities to move around and work for other businesses.”
How did you come to work at WEG?
I had moved back to Coventry and I was looking for a job. I saw an advert in the local paper and decided to apply. I started at WEG in a data inputter role at jobs.ac.uk in 2008/2009
What do you like about working here?I have seen many changes take place at jobs.ac.uk and WEG over the years, I think this has taught me that nothing stays the same and everything changes at some point, it’s just how you choose to embrace change and adapt to it. However one thing that jobs.ac.uk has always been about is the great people that work here, I have seen people leave and come back myself included. It really does feel like a collective that’s working together to help each other and the business be a success.
What opportunities has working at WEG given you?Working for so long at WEG has of course given me work experience, but it has also given me opportunity to progress in my career. From a data inputter, I progressed to a Coordinator for a number of years and from there I actually left to another department within The University to become a Sales & Events Manager. This, in turn, helped me with career experience and when there was an opening to come back to head up things on college.jobs.ac.uk, I jumped at the opportunity.
What would you say to others thinking about working at WEG?I would definitely recommend working at WEG in any function. There are always opportunities to move around and work for other businesses. If you have the right attitude and work ethic it will show and the Senior Management will always look to support your aspirations and listen to your ideas, I myself and some of my colleagues are an example of this and it’s the reason I choose to come back to work within WEG.
